Dunno how long it took us all to get there even though we took a long way to the theatre. We all got there about 5-10 minutes early for the film Passchendaele. So we all used our free pre movie time to go buy drinks and snacks at the food court. I stopped at New York Fries and got jumbo fries and a large root beer to have since I didn't bring any lunch. Had to get into the theatre at 12:15 since the film started around that time. The movie wasn't listed on any of the rooms in the theatre, so the one that we went into said High School Musical 3 above the doorway. For a minute, I thought we were going to see HSM3 but thank god that wasn't the case. I had to sit through HSM2 last year thanks to some relatives, Disney and the Family Channel and I wasn't about to sit through the next one. So the movie was great despite dragging on in some areas.

Haven't done much else for the rest of the evening...
I couldn't write yesterday because my internet connection was down last night. Last night I watched the Japanese film Spirited Away (Japanese: Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi, Trans: The Spiriting Away of Sen and Chihiro). It's one of my Intro Japanese 11 teacher's all time favorite movie. I thought it was a great film, it had a story line I had never seen in my life and the artwork was great. Mind you, I watched it in Japanese with English subs.

Today I went on a field trip to UBC's Canopy Walk and Botanical Garden Tour. I had to walk across all these bridges that were small in width and very wobbly for the Canopy Walk. The teachers told us that the bridges were suspended 300 feet above the ground- which scared the crap out of me because I'm somewhat scared of heights. I just imagined it as one bridge that went from side to another with a huge width. Turned out to be 7 wobbly bridges with very small width. So wobbly I actually thought at one point it would tip over on one side and I'd fall out. Thankfully that didn't happen. After that we all went to The Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch and we all ended up having the Spaghetti special with bread, salad, spaghetti, pop and ice cream. The meal was okay even though I don't really like spaghetti much. Then we went ice skating- something I hadn't done for about 6-8 years. I managed to catch onto that very fast. I did wipe out though once. Alot of guys were using the trainer equipment. I did use the trainer equipment, but only for a few minutes...

Then I went home tired off my ass...

I hope she likes it

The Theme Statement of My Life

The theme statement of my life is Dorothy's lesson from The Wizard of Oz "If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard- because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with". The message of the statement is don't go selfishly go off in search of something because it is already there. But we don't know this because we never bother to look within where we are because it is easier to go and find it elsewhere (and sometimes in the wrong places) rather than find it where we already are (within home). There are times that I wish I lived elsewhere or wondered what it would be like if I had a different family (sometimes I do wish I had a different family but not different parents) because I might complain about how much I don't like a certain aspect or two about my current life but when I read and see things about different people around the world, I start to realize how much luckier and better off I am right now than those people. Even if my family is dysfunctional, I wouldn't trade my parents for anyone else in the world or my family. I've already got a good family who loves me thanks to my parents, the less dysfunctional parts of my family and some of the dysfunctional people in my family. I already have a good education, even if school can be difficult and feels unfair on some levels. I don't always need what I don't have because I already have it in some ways than none.

My day was boring for the exception of Japanese class, which was great. Had to go back to Sylvan today, where once again I'm bored and try to contemplate a life in Asia or Europe... The Sylvan I go to has a wall where you "buy" some paper brick and donate some money to a poor country. I don't usually do that type of donating knowing my money will possibly never be seen by the ones who need it the most. I figure that if I want to help change the situation in a poor country, I can go there myself and actually do some work by helping build a house and helping operate a soup kitchen or something close to that. Something that actually will mean something to somebody. I'm not saying money has no worth, but when you think about it, money is something that comes and goes and it isn't really something that is short term or long term. Money is something that's lost as fast as it's given. If I give my money away, do I really know if it will be going towards its promised destination? Do I really know if needy people will actually see my money being put towards their needs? Do I really know if my well intended donation will land in someone else's hands? Someone who shouldn't be really be near that money? Do I really know about someone's intentions with my money? No, I don't know.

I have an apprehensive personality, sometimes I'm too apprehensive. Maybe that's a good thing

Well, I have to redraw half of the Hokkaido region on my map after I miscalculated the proportions. I will get it done though...

Today I ended up working from 5:30 - 9:30 because I had no idea that I was supposed to be working today... I was pissed for about an hour or two because I didn't get a phone call until 47 minutes after I was supposed to start my shift... Would have helped if they had given me a ring earlier so that I wouldn't be working so much later- originally my shift was supposed to be 4-8...

I'm glad to be home though...

I didn't really do anything at school today worthy of writing about...hopefully tommorow might bring something good...

I bought a Windows keyboard for $1.99 at a second hand store and it works just perfect...YAY! I can write here again!!!

My mom and I went out for Japanese food yesterday and got a bento box special each, unfortunatley neither of us could finish them so we took it home and it ended up as my dinner today. Still great as when we ordered it...

So today is the end of my long weekend...wahhh...too fast!!

Tommorow I have nothing to do hopefully... I have a school project to work on. It's a map about the Road to Democracy. I combined a bunch of Democratic world nations (Canada, Japan (The Hokkaido region), South Korea, South Africa and Israel) in a HUGE "Hybrid Country" of sorts. I've ended up making the Hokkaido region the size of a magazine, so I ended up taping together 4 pieces of blank paper and taped the whole thing on my wall so I can draw Hokkaido the right way using an online map of the region. I used an atlas for the other countries...

So I used Spain and Poland (two other Democracies) and created a medium sized island.

Well I gotta go...
See ya!

I defeated the two Galactic Grunts (with Martin) using Dodaitose mostly. I beat Cyrus using Dodaitose and a (now) lv. 61 Luxray (Nickname: Shinichiro- after Shinichiro Miki). With Pokemon at levels that high, wiping out Team Galactic is a piece of cake. My new gameplan is to defeat Volkner using Shinichiro and Dodaitose. Maybe Palkia once I see what it’s capable of…

I do watch the show and have lots of Pokemon items, movies, a lot of the games, cards and 2 soundtracks. Boy do I miss those days… Nowadays, it’s on before I go to school so I don’t really have the time to watch the new series. When I do watch it, it’s mostly online and I watch the Japanese episodes- ALOT. The best thing about the Japanese episodes are the opening and closing themes along with the voices.
Friday I get the day off from school. Niiiiiiiice!

Today the whole school was involved in a "fun run" that involved donations- the donations being for the Grade 12 grad celebrations. I am usually not very enthusiastic about these events because I'm not a runner of any sorts. I'm more adept to speed walking- which is one of my biggest weaknesses because I get ahead of other people and I end up having to wait for them...

I think I forgot to mention yesterday that I spent my evening at Sylvan. I go there once every week and I can never remember anything that they teach me. Worse is that all the tutors have different ways of teaching one subject- which is probably why I am never really able to do any of the stuff they give me to work on when I'm there. I was so bored there yesterday that I tried to snatch every opportunity I could to read my Japanese language copy of Ranma 1/2 Vol. 8 (I can read it but I don't understand what they're saying...)

I did a little personal shopping after school. I found these Pokemon toy figurines for $1.99 and there were at least 12 of them plus a Togepi toy

Today I had some fun after school. My friend and I went to 7-11 together. I haven't had salt and vinegar chips in a long time, so they were a nice treat...

So today MXC was not on. I was disappointed... Tommorow hopefully it will be on. I'm looking forward to the new Unsolved Mysteries tommorow as I missed the last episode. Damn!!

So I got further in Pokemon Sapphire. I defeated Team Aqua for the final time and caught Kyogre! He/She is gonna be pretty useful for the Pokemon League. I'd rather read Edgar Allan Poe than sit through someone reading it- I'd get through it as fast as I did when I read Battle Royale (for a 616 page 78 chapter novel, I finished it in 2.5 days. I got the some of the manga series now)

So I've spent most of my free time playing my Pokemon video games (I managed to beat half of Pearl in approx. a week. I still have to do a rematch with Cyrus and Team Galactic and either capture or defeat Palkia. Personally, I'd rather capture Palkia). I have Yellow, Blue, Crystal, Silver, Sapphire and Pearl. I do want LeafGreen, FireRed, Diamond, Red, Gold, Ruby and Emerald to complete what I have for the moment. So in Sapphire, I've gotten 7 gym badges (Took me a while to come up with a plan to defeat Liza and Tate. I screwed it up 3 times with water pokemon and finally defeated them with Rock Smash using a lv.45 Flygon and lv.55 Blaziken. I was going to use a lv.35 Hariyama that knows Surf and Fighting moves). I just have to do Sootopolis and then train for the Pokemon League. I've got a lv.40 Manectric (Who I captured to defeat Winona and some trainer with a Milotic) that can defeat Wallace with some more training. Plus I have a Pikachu from the Hoenn Safari Zone that I could train and level up as a backing Pokemon

My dinner's coming soon, I'll write some more tommorow

Except compile my list, rock out to iTunes and read free manga online (Manga Fox is the best site for free online manga- they've got LOTS to choose from)

I had to sort bottles on Friday. I was thinking I could buy some Barbie dolls from a second hand store depending on how much I money I get from cashing them in. Maybe I'll get enough to get a Fulla (The Islamic sister to Barbie. I'm no follower of Islam nor a Muslim, but I'd like to add Fulla to my extensive collection of dolls.) doll if Canada has any available. If there was a Jewish barbie, I would buy that one too (I'm not Jewish either but I'm fascinated by the religion. I should note that I'm fascinated by religion). I'd buy both a Jewish and a Muslim Barbie to show my 3 year old cousin in Vietnam the other sides of the world around her.
